There are more animals than the demand for Eid-ul-Adha

Minister of Fisheries and Livestock Abdur Rahman said, against the demand of 1 crore 7 lakh 2 thousand 394 animals for sacrifice this year, 1 crore 29 lakh 80 thousand 367 animals are ready in the country.

On Thursday (May 16), he told reporters after the inter-ministerial meeting to ascertain the demand, supply and transport of sacrificial animals on the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Adha at the Directorate of Livestock.

Livestock Minister said, this year 1 crore 29 lakh 80 thousand 367 animals are ready for sacrifice. Which is 4 lakh 44 thousand 34 more than last time. We have assumed the possibility that there may be demand for 1 crore 7 lakh 2 thousand 394 animals.

He said, this year, 3,000 animal markets will be held across the country. Among them, 21 will sit in Dhaka City Corporation.

Md. Abdur Rahman said, it is our principled decision not to bring animals from outside. We should also be careful not to get in the way of theft.
