Onion-garlic-ginger prices on fire before Eid

Over the course of a week, the prices of all kinds of spices increased along with daily necessities in the capital's retail and wholesale markets. Especially onion, garlic and ginger prices increased the most.

Buyers say that a lot of ginger, garlic and onion are used in meat cooking. Therefore, the demand for these products has increased due to Eid. And the unscrupulous traders have capitalized on this demand and increased the price. Traders are not punished as market monitoring is not strengthened by the government. Already the price of all things in the market is increased. On top of that, the prices of everyday products like ginger, garlic and onion have increased.

It has been seen that the price of ginger has increased the most after visiting various raw markets of the capital. 250-60 Tk ginger is now selling at 300 Tk. Onions worth 70 Tk. are being sold at 90 Tk. Garlic worth Tk 240 is being sold at Tk 300.

Atiqul Islam, a businessman, said that ginger, garlic and onion are in high demand during this Eid. Due to which the prices of these products started increasing slowly from the beginning of the month. On an average, the prices of these 3 products have increased by Tk 30 to Tk 50 per kg.
