Khurshid Alam represented the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) before the court. Barrister M Ameer Ul Islam and Barrister Tania Ameer stood for the writ petitioner. Advocate Fida M Kamal was the Amicus Curiae.

After the verdict Deputy Attorney General Mokhlesur Rahman said, since the court has declared the policy to stop coaching business as valid, so the coaching business comes to an end. For this reason the teachers cannot deliver any coaching beyond the rules to hold extra class taking 173 taka per month after performing their class duties.

The government issued show cause notice in 2018 asking why not action will be taken over the allegation of coaching business against some teachers of Motijheel Government Boys’ High School. The government issued the notice based on the report of ACC.

The teachers then filed writ petitions over the notice and the Policy-2012 to stop teachers from doing coaching business in educational institutions. After taking the hearing the court suspended the effectiveness of that notice for four months on February 28, 2018. As well as the court issued rule.

Then the ACC and the state filed leave to appeal seeking permission for making appeal to the Appellate Division against that order. After hearing of that plea the Appellate Division ordered the bench led by Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif to solve the rule by July 31, 2018. Later the final hearing of the rule finished on January 27 and the verdict was delivered on February 7.
