Lieutenant General (Retd.) Mohammad Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, the Home Affairs Advisor to the interim government, stated that the "Devil Hunt" operation is being carried out nationwide to improve law and order. He further emphasized that this operation will continue as long as the Devil exists, and he hopes that public cooperation will persist in the future as well.
He made these comments during his participation in the District Commissioner (DC) conference in the capital on Tuesday, February 18.
Jahangir Alam stressed the importance of completely eliminating corruption from the country, warning that without it, progress would stagnate. He mentioned that district commissioners have been given specific instructions regarding this matter.
He also noted that district commissioners have suggested increasing the presence of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in border areas and expanding the naval police force. Additionally, the need for more personnel in the industrial police was raised.
The Home Affairs Advisor further pointed out that the district commissioner of Gazipur has requested additional staff for the Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP), and these issues were addressed at today's DC conference.
