Air India, owned by the Tata Group, has announced it will reduce flights on 16 international routes and completely suspend service to three international destinations from June 21 to July 15.
This decision comes after a tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad on June 12.
The accident resulted in the deaths of 241 out of 242 people on board, with the sole survivor being a British-Indian citizen in seat 11A. An additional 33 people on the ground also perished, making it one of India's deadliest aviation disasters.
Air India's goal is to restore schedule stability and minimize inconvenience for passengers due to sudden flight cancellations.
The Hindu has reported that the suspended routes include Delhi-Nairobi, Amritsar-London (Gatwick), and Goa (Mopa)-London (Gatwick).
Flight reductions will affect various routes across North America, Europe, Australia, and the Far East.
These changes are set to be effective from June 21, 2025, until at least July 15, 2025.
Air India stated that it is committed to ensuring maximum cooperation for passengers and will swiftly arrange alternative flights and refunds according to the new schedule.
