Dengue: 8 people died, 2,164 new cases reported in 24 hours

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said, At least eight dengue patients died while 2,168 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am on August 22.

In the last 24 hours 8 deaths were reported as total 493 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh since January. A total of 1,04,359 were infected from January.

According to DGHS, 3,570 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 4,259 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

In the 24 hours, 842 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 1,326 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS.
