Bangla Blockade: new program of Anti-Quota Movement

The agitating students moved away from Shahbag ground by announcing a new program demanding the abolition of quotas in government jobs.

DU student Nahid Islam, from social welfare department of DU, who coordinated the movement on Saturday (July 6) evening, said that the 'Bangla Blockade' (blockade) program will be held across the country from 3 pm on Sunday.

He also said that not only Shahbag intersection, students of universities and colleges will come down to every point of the capital and make the program successful. Students at the district and university levels will block highways outside Dhaka.

At this time, Nahid Islam also said that class-examination boycott program will continue in all educational institutions of the country.

Earlier, Dhaka University students protested for the fifth day on Saturday afternoon demanding cancellation of quota. To participate in the movement, they came in front of the Central Library with separate banners from different halls of DU. Later, the students came to Shahbagh with a procession. Then they blocked the Shahbag intersection. Traffic stopped at this time.
