The protesting students of Dhaka University have decided to stay on the streets rejecting their request to return to the hall.

On Monday (July 15) at around 8 pm, the students requested to return to the hall, but they refused.

Dr Mohammad Javed Hossain, Provost of Dr Muhammad Shahidullah Hall, requested the students to return to the halls. Later, the students refused and chanted 'Dalal Dalal' and 'Fake Fake'. They demanded that outsiders be thrown out of the campus.

Then Dhaka University Proctor Prof. Dr. Maksudur Rahman also went there. 'We don't have everything,' he told the students. If we had the chance, we would have removed the outsiders earlier.

At that time, the protesting students took position in front of Dr. Muhammad Shahidullah Hall. Hundreds of policemen took position with an armored vehicle about 30 yards away from there.

Earlier on Monday afternoon, BCL activists clashed with the students who were fighting for quota reform. More than 200 students were injured in the BCL attack.

The movement began for the second day demanding withdrawal of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's statement on 'freedom fighter quota' in government jobs. Students of Dhaka University, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Jagannath University, Dhaka College and Eden College gathered in front of the 'The Raju Bhashkorjo' on the Dhaka University campus.
