3500 crores lost, PK Halder's trial begins

The trial of Prashanta Kumar Halder also known as PK Halder, arrested on charges of embezzlement and smuggling of about 3500 crores from Bangladesh, has started.

The case occurred before Justice Indra Prasanna Mukerji of the Special ED Court-1 of Kolkata's City Sessions Court on Saturday (August 31). 

The court fixed September 25 as the next date of appearance.

ED lawyer Arijit Chakraborty said the next case hearing is on September 25. The lawyer of ED said that the issue of involvement of S Alam Group of Bangladesh in this important case has come up, these are pending matters.

It is to be noted that PK Halder was arrested from Rajarhat in West Bengal by India's investigative agency 'Enforcement Directorate' (ED) on May 14, 2022.
