Thunderstorm Warning for 15 Districts, Signal Issued

The Meteorological Department has issued a thunderstorm forecast, predicting winds of up to 60 km/h in 15 districts, including Dhaka.

The forecast, valid for internal river ports until 1 p.m. on Sunday (September 15), warned of winds ranging from 45 to 60 km/h coming from the south or southeast. The affected regions include Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Dhaka, Faridpur, Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, and Cox's Bazar. These areas may experience showers accompanied by gusty winds or thundershowers.

River ports in these 15 districts have been advised to hoist warning signal number 1.

Additionally, the weather forecast for the rest of Sunday, valid until 6 p.m., indicates that light to moderate rain or thunderstorms with gusty winds are likely in most areas of the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions. Some regions may experience moderate to very heavy rainfall during this period.
