Jatiya Party’s former secretary general ABM Ruhul Amin Hawladar, BNP leaders AZM Zahid Hossain, Ruhul Quoddus Talukdar Dulu filed writ petitions with the High Court on Sunday seeking acceptance of their nomination papers.
The hearing on the petition is likely to be held at the bench of Justice Tariq ul Hakim and Justice Md Shohrowardi in the afternoon.
Howladar’s initial application for contesting the scheduled 30 December election was rejected on December 2 due to outstanding loans. Then he filed review petition with the Election Commission.
After hearing the review petition on Friday, the EC declared Hawladar’s candidature invalid on the ground of loan default.
On December 3, Hawladar was removed from Jatiya Party’s secretary general post as he was allegedly involved in party’s nomination business.
Zahid Hossain submitted his nomination papers from Mymensingh-4 constituency while Ruhul Kuddus from Natore-2.
