The government has expanded the portfolio of Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman, the Prime Minister’s Adviser for Policy and Strategy.
According to a gazette notification issued by the Cabinet Division, Dr. Zahed has been assigned the additional charge of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
The notification, signed by Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani on March 12, specifies that Dr. Zahed, who holds the rank of a state minister, will oversee these two vital sectors alongside his existing responsibilities in policy development.
This redistribution of duties aims to streamline government communication and cultural outreach under unified leadership.
While this new appointment shifts the current ministerial landscape, the Cabinet Division clarified that all other provisions from previous notifications regarding adviser responsibilities, specifically those issued on February 24 and March 4, remain in full effect.
This latest administrative order has been implemented immediately, citing the necessity of public interest.
