Thursday, 14 May 2026 , 02:10 PM

Dr. Zubaida Rahman, wife of the Prime Minister, has extended humanitarian assistance to six-month-old Noor Nahar, a child currently battling critical complications from measles and pneumonia.

The intervention came after a media report titled “Condition of a 6-month-old measles-infected baby critical, mother has no money and does not know what to do” drew the attention of Dr. Zubaida Rahman, who serves as the Vice-President of the Ziaur Rahman Foundation (ZRF) and is an organizer of the voluntary organization Surovi.

Upon learning of the family's plight, she directed that all necessary support be provided to ensure the infant receives proper medical care and instructed the voluntary organization “Amra BNP Paribar” to supervise the efforts.

In response to these instructions, a delegation from Amra BNP Paribar, led by member secretary Moksedul Momin Mithun, visited the child’s mother, Swarna Akter, at the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Mohakhali to inquire about the baby’s condition.

The organization has already taken initiatives to facilitate medical assistance for the child, who was admitted to the hospital with severe symptoms.

The delegation assured the helpless family of continued support throughout the recovery process and stated that arrangements for the advanced treatment of Noor Nahar had already begun.

The infant, a resident of Keraniganj, remains under medical supervision as the team works to stabilize her condition following the Prime Minister's wife's direct involvement in the case.
