The Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh has offered its profound condolences to the families of victims who died in the recent floods and landslides, while extending deep sympathy to everyone affected by the natural disaster.
The diplomatic mission expressed wishes for a rapid recovery for the injured and voiced hope for the safe and swift return of displaced residents to their homes.
In its official statement published on Facebook page, the embassy highlighted Japan's long-standing technical and financial cooperation with Bangladesh to enhance local defense against natural calamities such as floods and cyclones.
However, it noted that the impact of the latest flooding underscores the urgent necessity for expanded measures to eliminate disaster-related fatalities.
Reiterating its commitment, the embassy pledged to maintain close collaboration with the Bangladeshi government, civil society organizations, and international bodies to boost emergency response capabilities, support recovery initiatives and build long-term disaster resilience across the nation.
