Joint campaign if AL hi-command proposes: Hasan Sarkar

In the Gazipur City Corporation election Awami League (AL) mayoral candidate Jahangir Alam proposed BNP mayoral candidate Hasan Uddin Sarkar to take part in the campaign from the same stage and same vehicle.

The AL candidate made this invitation on Saturday while speaking to the newsmen at his residence at Chhoydana area in the city.

Jahangir Alam said, I am willing to go for election campaign along with BNP candidate Hasan Sarkar if he has no problem.

He also said, the two candidates will stand on the same stage and face the people. Old and young will be together. Thus the practice of democracy will be done. Voters can tell about their problem to both the candidates at a time.

Meanwhile, BNP mayoral candidate Hasan Uddin Sarkar welcomed the invitation of AL candidate and said to Rtv online, if the invitation comes from the policy making level of Awami League then I would certainly take part in the election campaign from the same stage.

He said, Jahangir is a new generation politician. He said this from emotional point of view. This type of decision should have come from his party hi-command. If that is done then I will accept it.

Hasan Sarkar further said, there will be no rivalry if AL hi-command manages to sit us together. A good environment will be created. People of Gazipur will be able to cast their votes in a fearless and enjoyable environment. I hope that on the day of voting we together will sit in a room. People will cast their votes with joy and cheerfulness.
