The family members of martyrs from the July coup have staged a sit-in at Shahbagh intersection in the capital, demanding justice for the massacre and official recognition from the government.
On Thursday (February 6) at around 11:15 am, they blocked the road, bringing traffic in the area to a standstill.
During the protest, participants displayed photos of the martyrs and held placards calling for accountability. Some protesters accused the government of neglecting their demands, while others called for the immediate return of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from India to face trial.
The families expressed frustration over their repeated attempts to meet with the Chief Adviser, which have been unsuccessful. They criticized the ongoing judicial proceedings related to the July massacre, describing them as a "circus" and pointing out that many individuals responsible for the violent crackdown have not been held accountable.
