CA Honors Indomitable Women with Awards

International Women's Day is being celebrated worldwide today under the theme "Rights, Equality, Empowerment: Advancing Women and Girls." To mark the occasion, Dr Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the interim government, presented honorary awards to several remarkable women in recognition of their achievements.

The awards ceremony occurred on Saturday morning (March 8) at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital.

This year's award recipients include:

• Sharifa Sultana – for contributions to the economy
• Halima Begum – for contributions to education and employment
• Marina Besra – recognized as a successful mother
• Lipi Begum – honoured as a woman who triumphed over life’s struggles
• Md Muhin (Mohona) – for outstanding contributions to social development
• Bangladesh Women's Cricket Team – awarded for special recognition

The event was conducted by Momtaz Ahmed NDC, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.
