UN Chief Meets Chief Adviser

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres met with the interim government's Chief Adviser, Dr Muhammad Yunus.

The meeting commenced at around 10:00 am on Friday (March 14) at the Chief Adviser's Office in Tejgaon, Dhaka.

Following the meeting, the UN Secretary-General is scheduled to travel to Cox's Bazar. There, he will be welcomed at the airport by Farooq-e-Azam Bir Protik, the Adviser to the Ministry of Disaster Management.

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus will inspect the ongoing construction of the Cox's Bazar International Airport and the Khurushkul Climate Refugee Center in Cox's Bazar.

Later in the day, Adviser Muhammad Yunus and UN Secretary-General Guterres will join an Iftar gathering with approximately 100,000 Rohingya refugees in Ukhiya.

The UN Secretary-General will depart the airport and travel directly to Ukhiya, where he will visit the Rohingya Learning Center, the Rohingya Cultural Center, and a Jute Products Manufacturing Center.

After concluding their visit and Iftar, both the Chief Adviser and the UN Secretary-General will return to Dhaka in the evening.

This marks Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus's first visit to Cox's Bazar since assuming office.
