Dr Yunus and UN Secretary-General Guterres Share Iftar with Rohingyas

Dr Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the interim government, and United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres joined thousands of Rohingya refugees for Iftar in Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar.

The Iftar gathering took place on Friday (March 14) evening.

Earlier in the afternoon, Dr. Yunus and Secretary-General Guterres arrived at the Rohingya camp in Ukhiya to participate in the event.

Before they visited the camp, they flew from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to Cox's Bazar via Bangladesh Biman Airlines.

Upon arrival, they were welcomed by Farooq-e-Azam, Adviser to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.

The UN Secretary-General has several activities planned at the Rohingya camp throughout the evening. He has already engaged in discussions with Rohingya students and community members about their living conditions.

Guterres arrived in Bangladesh on Thursday (March 13) for a four-day visit. At the airport, he was received by Tawhid Hossain, Adviser to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the interim government.
