Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus has emphasized that people are not born to work under others but to become entrepreneurs. He encouraged the younger generation to adopt an entrepreneurial mindset.
Speaking at the BIMSTEC Young Gen Forum in Bangkok on Thursday (April 3), Dr Yunus urged young people to shape themselves as "three-zero individuals" to help safeguard the planet.
He explained that a sustainable future requires a shift toward a "three-zero civilization"—zero carbon emissions, zero waste, and zero wealth concentration. According to him, the traditional economic model, which promotes carbon emissions, excessive waste, and wealth centralization, is pushing the world toward a destructive path.
Dr Yunus reiterated that entrepreneurship is the natural path for individuals rather than working under others. He called on young people to embrace innovation and self-reliance.
Describing today's youth as the most powerful generation in history, the Nobel laureate expressed confidence in their ability to drive change.
Dr Yunus arrived in Bangkok at noon on Thursday to attend the sixth BIMSTEC summit, where top South Asian leaders have gathered.
