The Health Reform Commission of Bangladesh submitted its reform report to Chief Advisor Dr Muhammad Yunus on Monday, May 5. The commission recommended enacting 7 new laws to improve the country's healthcare system, including the formation of an independent and permanent Bangladesh Health Commission.

The commission also recommended limiting direct contact between pharmaceutical representatives and doctors, suggesting communication be done through email instead.
This 12-member commission, led by National Professor AK Azad Khan, was formed in November 2024 and includes experts from public health, medicine, and research institutions.
