UK Expresses Interest in Ground Handling for Hazrat Shahjalal’s Third Terminal

The United Kingdom has expressed its interest in participating in the ground handling operations of the newly constructed Third Terminal at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

This move is expected to open a new chapter of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in Bangladesh's aviation sector.

On Tuesday (March 24), British High Commissioner Sarah Cooke conveyed this interest during a meeting with the Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, Afroza Khanam Rita.

In a press release, the Ministry stated that the meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the UK, with detailed discussions held on cooperation within the civil aviation sector.

Minister Afroza Khanam Rita sought the UK's support in developing the country's aviation industry. In response, the British High Commissioner assured continued support and cooperation for the current government.

Sarah Cooke noted that the United Kingdom is keen to stand by Bangladesh in its mission to transform the country into a regional aviation hub.

State Minister for the Ministry, M Rashiduzzaman Millat, was also present during the meeting.
