July Smriti Museum Inaugurated Today by Prime Minister

The much-anticipated July Mass Uprising Smriti Museum (July Uprising Memorial Museum) officially opened its doors today in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, capital.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated the museum at 9:00 AM by unveiling the commemorative plaque as the chief guest.

The information was disclosed on Monday (August 4) by the Minister for Cultural Affairs, Nitai Roy Chowdhury, during a press conference held at the conference room of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs at the Secretariat.

According to the ministry, the museum remained open exclusively for special guests and families of the July martyrs on opening day.

General visitors will be able to tour the museum starting tomorrow, Thursday (August 6).

Following the inauguration, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman toured the museum’s various galleries, preserved artifacts, photographs, documents, and memorabilia.

During the event, July fighters and family members of the martyrs shared their recollections of the heroism and supreme sacrifices of the July mass uprising.

Additionally, a documentary highlighting the sequence of events and the history of victory of the July uprising was screened, alongside a cultural program.

Online ticketing arrangements are available for visitors wishing to tour the museum. Ticket prices have been set at 50 BDT for adults and 25 BDT for children.
