JP Secretary General’s nomination paper cancelled

Nomination papers of 10 candidates were cancelled in Patuakhali. Over allegation of loan default the nomination paper of Jatiya Party (JP) Secretary General Ruhul Amin Hawlader was cancelled in Patuakhali-1 constituency and also the nomination paper of BNP’s Golam Maula Rony was cancelled as there was no signature in his affidavit.

While scrutinizing the nomination papers district Returning Officer Md. Matiul Islam Chowdhury cancelled the nomination papers at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Sunday.

In Patuakhali-1 (Sadar-Mirzaganj-Dumki) constituency of the 12 candidates nomination papers of 5 were cancelled, in Patuakhali-2 (Baufal) constituency 3 were cancelled out of 10 and in Patuakhali-3 (Galachipa-Dashmina) constituency 2 nomination papers were cancelled out of 7.

Mentionable, three BNP candidates were nominated in Patuakhali-3 constituency. Of the three, Golam Maula Rony’s nomination paper was cancelled due to not signing in the affidavit and Md. Shahjahan Khan’s nomination paper was cancelled as he is a loan defaulter. As a result Hasan Mamun remains as the lone candidate for BNP in the constituency.
