Dr. Zubaida Rahman, Vice President of the Ziaur Rahman Foundation (ZRF) and wife of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, distributed books among underprivileged children in the Korail slum area of Mohakhali, Dhaka, on Monday.
The distribution program, organized by ZRF to mark the birth anniversary of BNP founder and former President Ziaur Rahman, saw Dr. Zubaida handing out various educational and creative books to the children on Monday afternoon.
Several high-profile figures attended the event, including ZRF Executive Director Professor Dr. Farhad Halim Donor, Advisor to the BNP Chairman Abdus Salam, and ZRF Director Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam, among others.
According to ZRF Director Professor Dr. Abul Hasnat Md. Shamim, 100 children were gifted bags containing science books, literature on the Liberation War, storybooks, and chocolates. He added that more books would be distributed under this initiative following the elections.
Launch of Free Heart Camp
In addition to the book distribution, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, a renowned cardiologist, inaugurated a "Free Heart Camp" at the Ansar Camp field in Korail.
Organized by the Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB), the health camp provided free medical checkups and medicine to local residents. Dr. Zubaida personally consulted with several patients to discuss their health concerns during the visit.
Medical Consultations in Gulshan
Later in the day, Dr. Zubaida Rahman visited the ZRF office in Gulshan, where she provided medical advice and consultations specifically addressing women’s health issues.
She was joined by a team of specialist doctors, including DAB Treasurer Dr. Mehedi Hasan and Joint Secretary General Dr. ANM Monowarul Kadir Bitu.
