Allama Shah Muhibbullah Babunagari, the Ameer of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, has declared that voting for Jamaat-e-Islami is haram (forbidden) for all Muslims and is in no way permissible.

He further asserted that those who have allied with "Maududi’s Jamaat" are aligned with Maududism, and that opposing them constitutes a "Jihad."

The Hefazat chief made these remarks on Thursday night (February 5) during the closing ceremony of the Sahih al-Bukhari Hadith studies at Kazirhat Madrasa in Fatikchhari, Chattogram.

Addressing the community of Islamic scholars, Babunagari stated that there are fundamental and theological (aqidah) disputes with Jamaat-e-Islami, arguing that the party does not provide the correct interpretation of religion. He called upon Muslims to unite to prevent the rise of what he termed a "nullified force."

Declaration of "Jihad" and Political Endorsement
In a significant move ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election, the Hefazat Ameer declared a "Jihad" against Jamaat-e-Islami.

Simultaneously, he announced his support for Sarwar Alamgir, the BNP-nominated candidate for the Chattogram-2 constituency, who is contesting under the "Sheaf of Paddy" (Dhaner Shish) symbol.

The event was attended by Sarwar Alamgir himself, along with prominent Islamic scholars and senior BNP leaders.
