Dead bodies of three missing tourists who went to swim at Banshbaria beach in Sitakunda of Chattogram were recovered. A team of divers recovered the bodies at around 1 pm on Saturday.
The deceased were Saiful Islam (24), Md. Alauddin (20) and Md. Yasin (18).
Station Officer of Sitakunda Fire Service Wasi Azad told Rtv online, navy, coast guard and fire service jointly began the rescue operation from Friday in the Bay of Bengal channel. The bodies were recovered from the same place where they drowned.
Assistant Commissioner (land) of Sitakunda Kamruzzaman told Rtv online, three dead bodies were recovered. After completion of formal procedures those will be handed over to the families.
About cause of death he said, this channel of Bay of Bengal comprises with silt which is risky to move. Many tourists go to the deep sea undermining the warning. Even somebody comes here who do not know how to swim. The deaths are causing due to the reasons.
It is mentionable that a 23-member tourist team arrived in Banshkhali beach on last Friday. They passed the time playing football, gossiping and taking photographs. At around 3pm three people began to swim in the water. At one stage they were washed away with ebb-tide. Aftermath navy, coast guard and fire service began their rescue operation and found the bodies on Saturday.
