Magura Observes 11th Death Anniversary of Arafat Rahman Koko

A mourning rally, discussion and doa mahfil were held in Magura on Saturday to mark the 11th death anniversary of Arafat Rahman Koko, the youngest son of the late President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

The memorial events were organized by the Arafat Rahman Koko Sporting Club in Magura. 

At 11 am, a mourning procession commenced from the club’s premises in the Bhaina Mor area, traversing the city's main thoroughfares before returning to its starting point.

Following the rally, a discussion session was held where speakers reflected on Koko's legacy as a prominent cricket organizer and his role as the former chairman of the BCB Development Committee. 

They noted that his contributions to nurturing young talent and modernizing sports infrastructure remain a cornerstone of Bangladesh’s athletic history.

The program concluded with a solemn doa mahfil, where participants offered prayers for the eternal peace of his soul. 

The event saw spontaneous participation from local BNP leaders, activists, athletes, and citizens from various professions, all gathering to pay their respects on the anniversary of his passing in 2015.
