'Dhaner Shish' Guarantees Food Security and Growth: Dr. Zahid

BNP leader Dr AZM Zahid Hossain has stated that the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ (Dhaner Shish) is a symbol of progress and development, asserting that when the party is in power, the people are ensured food security. He made these remarks during an electoral campaign rally at the Bishapara Madrasa grounds in Hakimpur Upazila, Dinajpur, on Sunday night (February 1).
Addressing the crowd, Dr. Zahid emphasized that the citizens will decide who leads the nation in the upcoming national election scheduled for February 12.
"Cast your vote for whoever you choose," Dr. Zahid said. "Remember, the people's right to vote has been suppressed for a long time. In 2014, votes weren't needed; in 2018, the voting was finished at night; and in 2024, candidates couldn't even be found. Therefore, in 2026, you must cast your vote fearlessly and without interference."
He further reminded the audience that the 'Sheaf of Paddy' is the symbol of the late President Ziaur Rahman, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman.
Concluding his speech, the BNP leader sought public support and votes for his party's symbol in the February 12 national polls.
