The "Amar Bhashar Cholochitro Utshob 1432" (Film Festival in My Language) kicks off today, February 3, at the University of Dhaka.
Aiming to bridge the gap between classic and contemporary Bangladeshi cinema, the festival will run for five consecutive days at the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) premises.
Film enthusiasts can enjoy the screenings for a nominal ticket price of 50 BDT. Tickets will be available at the TSC entrance starting at 9:00 AM daily.
A Mix of Classics and New Releases
The festival features a curated selection of 20 feature films and three short films. The lineup ranges from timeless classics like Megher Onek Rong and Beder Meye Josna to recent hits like Tandab and Utshob.
Notably, the festival will also showcase films that are yet to be released in commercial theaters.
The event officially opens this evening at 6:30 PM with the screening of Ahmed Hasan Sunny’s film, Ekhane Rajnoitik Alap Joruri. Aside from the opening day, films will be screened daily in four slots: 10:00 AM, 12:30 PM, 3:30 PM, and 6:30 PM.

The festival will conclude with a special screening of the acclaimed West Bengal film, The Academy of Fine Arts.
