The government of Kuwait has officially announced the public holiday schedule for Eid-ul-Azha 2025, following the sighting of the Zilkad moon.
According to the Cabinet's statement, public sector holidays will run from Thursday, June 5, to Monday, June 9. Government offices will resume on Tuesday, June 10.
June 5 has been declared the Day of Arafah, followed by the Eid holidays from June 6. Monday, June 9, will be treated as an additional rest day, giving employees a continuous five-day break.
Based on astronomical forecasts, the moon marking the start of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah (Zilhaj) may be sighted on May 27. If confirmed, Dhul Hijjah will begin on May 28. Accordingly, Arafah Day will fall on June 5, and Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on June 6.
Eid-ul-Azha is one of the most significant festivals in Islam, observed on the 10th day of Dhul Hijjah. It commemorates the devotion and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.) and his son Ismail (A.S.).
