Pakistan to Mediate Talks Between US and Iran: Shehbaz Sharif

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that his country is committed to playing a constructive role in resolving the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, specifically working to bring the United States and Iran to the negotiating table.

The Prime Minister made these remarks in a statement following high-level discussions between the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt. The two-day summit involving the four nations commenced yesterday, Sunday, in the Pakistani capital.

In the statement, Prime Minister Sharif confirmed he had held meetings with the Foreign Ministers of Turkey and Egypt to address the escalating regional crisis.
