Middle East: Trump Warns Iran 'Time is Ticking' on Deal

U.S. President Donald Trump again threatened Iran with destruction, as he seeks to pressure Tehran to agree to a deal to end the war.

"For Iran, the Clock is Ticking, and they better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. "TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!" 

A ceasefire was agreed in early April, which Trump recently extended, but no lasting agreement has been reached with Iran. 

Iran Claims Full Military Control Over Strait of Hormuz

Last week, the US president said the ceasefire was on "massive life support."

Trump has previously used fiery rhetoric as he warned Iran that its "whole civilization" would die and threatened to deliberately target civilian infrastructure to force Tehran to agree to Washington's terms.
