Venezuela's Oil Covered Cost of Iran War 25 Times Over, Trump Claims

U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that the financial benefits the United States reaped from Venezuelan oil have been more than enough to cover the expenses of ongoing military operations against Iran multiple times.

Speaking at a public rally, Trump stated, "We didn't do badly in Venezuela. We took so much oil from there that it covered the cost of the Iran war about 25 times over."

His remarks have sparked fresh debate and scrutiny in international circles. Analysts view Trump's comments as highly significant, particularly at a time when global attention is focused on escalating tensions surrounding Iran in the Middle East and the scale of US military spending.

According to political analysts, Trump's statements underscore that the United States has long considered Venezuela's energy resources vital to its strategic and economic interests. They note that during his administration, the South American nation's oil sector was effectively treated as a core component of global energy policy.

Meanwhile, recent data from the Pentagon indicates that direct US expenditure on military operations against Iran has reached approximately $29 billion. However, some military and economic analysts suggest that the actual cost could be significantly higher than the officially declared figures.

In his speech, Trump highlighted the economic gains from Venezuelan oil as a major success of his administration. Nevertheless, his open linking of a sovereign nation's natural resources to war expenditures has drawn criticism from the international community.
