Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, ex-military officer and former NTMC Director General Ziaul Ahsan, along with 10 other police officials, have been brought before the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) in connection with the July-August genocide case.
On Thursday morning (February 20) around 10 am, they were transported to the tribunal in two separate prison vans from Kashimpur Central Jail and Keraniganj Central Jail.

This is not the first time they have been presented before the tribunal.
On October 27, a three-member tribunal judicial panel led by Chairman Justice Md Golam Mortuza Majumder granted the prosecution's request and ordered their appearance.
Arrest warrants were issued against 17 former police officers in connection with crimes against humanity. Those who have already been arrested were presented in court today.
Between July 1 and August 5 of last year, around 125 complaints were filed regarding genocide and crimes against humanity committed during the nationwide anti-discrimination student-public movement. Additional complaints were also submitted to the International Crimes Tribunal's investigation agency.
