7 New PSC Members Take Oath

The newly appointed seven members of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) have been sworn in. Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed administered the oath at the Judges’ Lounge of the Supreme Court on Sunday (March 2). The ceremony was conducted by Supreme Court Registrar General Aziz Ahmed Bhuiyan.

The newly sworn-in PSC members are:

• Professor Ferdous Arfina Osman (Dhaka University)
• Retired Foreign Cadre Officer Shabbir Ahmed Chowdhury
• Retired Additional Inspector General of Police Md. Munir Hossain
• Professor Shahnaz Sarker (Bangladesh Agricultural University)
• Professor ATM Farid Uddin (BCS Health Cadre)
• Professor Md Sharif Hossain (Dhaka University)
• Brigadier General (Retd.) Anwarul Islam

The event was attended by justices from the Appellate Division, Supreme Court administration officials, and PSC representatives.

Earlier on February 18, the government appointed these seven new members to the PSC. The Ministry of Public Administration issued an official notification regarding their appointment.
