12 Remanded for 3 days over Dipu Das murder case

A Mymensingh court on Monday granted a three-day remand for 12 individuals accused in the murder of 27-year-old garment worker Dipu Chandra Das in Bhaluka upazila. 

Judicial Magistrate Shahadat Hossain issued the order after a hearing where police initially requested five days to investigate a potential conspiracy and verify suspected external links. 

Court Police Inspector Mostasinur Rahman confirmed the proceedings, identifying the remanded individuals as Alamgir Hossain, Moraz Hossain, Tarek Hossain, Limon Sarkar, Manik Miah, Ershad Ali, Najim Uddin, Ajmal Hasan, Ashikur Rahman, Quiyum, Sahin Miah, and Nazmul, many of whom reside outside the Mymensingh district.

The Inspector said that the investigators are working to uncover the alleged conspiracy behind the killing. 

He added that the remand period would be used to verify information about suspected links beyond the local area.

The victim, an employee of Pioneer Knitwear (BD) Limited in Jamirdiya Dubalipara area of Bhaluka, was killed on December 18, leading his brother to file a case against approximately 150 unidentified suspects.
