An allegation has been made that 'Flight Expert,' a major online air ticket booking platform, has fled Bangladesh with hundreds of crores of taka. Reports suggest that numerous agencies had invested hundreds of crores of taka in the company.

On Saturday (August 2), the Flight Expert website was inaccessible. The last post on the company's official Facebook page was about Hajj, announcing the start of registration for the 2026 Hajj and listing package prices.

In a post on a Facebook group called "Holiday Travelers of Bangladesh," a user wrote, "Those who have booked tickets from Flight Expert but haven't flown yet, please check the current status of your tickets. I always say, don't look for low prices, look for good quality/service. All services of Flight Expert have been shut down."

Mamunur Rashid, a member of Flight Expert's sales department, told journalists, "Our owner fled the country last night (Friday, August 1)."

Flight Expert began its operations in Bangladesh in March 2017 with a launch event. Since its inception, it quickly became an influential name in the country's online travel industry, capturing a significant share of the flight ticketing sector.

The company offered various services such as domestic and international airline ticket bookings, hotel reservations, tour packages, and visa processing. It gained widespread popularity among customers, particularly for its convenience in booking affordable flight tickets.
