A major fire erupted near the TCB Building in the capital’s Karwan Bazar area on Monday night (February 16). Eight units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence are currently working to bring the flames under control.
The fire service control room received the emergency call at 10:28 PM, according to Duty Officer Shahjahan Hossain.
Current Status
Response: Eight firefighting units reached the spot shortly after the report and are actively battling the blaze.
Casualties: As of now, there have been no immediate reports of casualties or injuries.
Origin: The cause of the fire remains unknown and is currently under investigation.
The incident occurred during a high-stakes week for the capital, as the city prepares for the swearing-in ceremony of the new parliament and cabinet today.
Authorities are working to ensure the fire does not spread to adjacent commercial structures in the busy Karwan Bazar hub.
