BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has stated that if all political parties unite, it will be possible to overcome the tough challenges of nation-building.
Speaking virtually at a BNP workshop organized by the party’s Central Training Committee at Dream Valley Auditorium in Jhenaidah on Wednesday (January 29) afternoon, he made this remark in response to a question from party activists.
During his speech, Tarique Rahman asserted that the BNP aims to implement a 31-point agenda to avenge the oppression and persecution inflicted by the autocratic Sheikh Hasina government.
He further stated that the prolonged rule of Sheikh Hasina’s autocratic regime may have eroded public trust in political parties. Therefore, restoring public confidence will be a key responsibility of BNP leaders and activists.
The BNP Acting Chairman emphasized that if his party forms the government, recruitment in various state institutions will be based on merit. He accused some allies of Sheikh Hasina’s regime of looting the country’s banking sector and laundering money abroad. He vowed that, under BNP’s rule, economic reforms will be implemented in the banking sector to ensure a strong and stable economy.
He also criticized the syndicate system that existed under the Awami League government and pledged that the BNP would dismantle it. He proposed a system where locally produced goods would be distributed through family cards to support citizens.
Additionally, he promised welfare measures such as special cards for women, access to education, healthcare, employment opportunities, and social justice, aiming to build a welfare-oriented state.
The workshop was presided over by Jhenaidah BNP Vice President Munshi Kamal Azad Pannu and attended by several BNP leaders, including:
