Preparations are complete at the Jatiya Eidgah on the Supreme Court premises to host the capital’s main Eid-ul-Fitr Prayer, which is scheduled to take place at 8:30 am on the day of Eid.

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Administrator Abdus Salam confirmed the readiness of the venue following an inspection today.

"All preparations have been completed at the Jatiya Eidgah for offering Eid-ul-Fitr prayers. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will offer Eid prayers at the Jatiya Eidgah this year," he stated, noting that the venue is equipped to accommodate approximately 35,000 devotees.

Acknowledging the current warm weather, the administrator assured that special measures are in place to ensure the comfort of worshippers.

"As the weather is expected to be hot, efforts will be made to provide air-cooling arrangements in some areas. Adequate fans and lighting facilities will also be ensured," Abdus Salam explained.

He further detailed that the site includes dedicated entrances and ablution facilities for women, as well as mobile toilets and onsite primary medical services.

In the event of inclement weather, officials have designated the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque as the alternative site for the main congregation.

He extended an invitation to city residents to join the congregation at the scheduled time, while also urging them to adhere to security protocols.

"I urge worshippers to follow security instructions while entering the Eidgah premises and refrain from carrying any items that could disrupt security arrangements," he cautioned.

The DSCC, along with relevant municipal officials, continues to oversee the final arrangements to ensure a smooth and orderly experience for all attendees.
