A total of 6,175 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have safely returned home from Saudi Arabia as of Sunday, following the completion of this year's sacred Hajj pilgrimage.
According to a Hajj official, a total of 15 return flights have been operated so far by the three designated carriers.
Among the returned pilgrims, 416 individuals travelled under government management, while 5,759 pilgrims returned through private travel agency arrangements.
The 15 inbound flights completed so far include three operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, four by Saudia Airlines, and eight by Flynas Airlines.
Amid the spiritual landscape of the pilgrimage, a total of 37 Bangladeshi pilgrims passed away in Saudi Arabia due to various health issues.
The deceased include 24 males and 13 females, with 27 deaths recorded in Makkah and 10 in Madinah. No casualties were reported in Jeddah, Mina, or Muzdalifah.
This year's comprehensive Hajj operations originally commenced with the first outbound flight from Dhaka on April 18 and concluded on May 21.
Following the main rituals, the return flight operations began on May 30 and are scheduled to run systematically until June 30.
