The Bangladesh women's hockey team etched their names into the history books on Friday, securing a landmark 3-2 victory over Uzbekistan in only their second international appearance.

The win came during the Women's Asian Games Qualifying Hockey tournament currently being held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Following a competitive 5-5 draw against Chinese Taipei in their opening match last Thursday, the Bangladeshi squad showed immense resilience to claim their maiden international win.

Bangladesh set the pace early in the encounter, with Sharika Rimon finding the back of the net in the 11th minute to take the lead.
