In a significant move to accelerate the nation’s digital transformation, Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) has announced a major upgrade to its existing internet packages, increasing speeds by up to three times while maintaining current monthly rates.
According to a press release issued on Sunday, the initiative aims to provide more reliable and high-speed connectivity for essential services such as online education, remote work, video streaming and gaming without adding a financial burden on subscribers.
BTCL emphasized that customer satisfaction remains its primary objective, and this upgrade reflects the company's commitment to ensuring quality digital services for all.
Under the new structure, the entry-level BDT 399 "SULOV-5" package (5 Mbps) has been upgraded to "SHASHROYI-20" with 20 Mbps, while the BDT 500 "SULOV-12" package has been boosted to 25 Mbps.
Students also benefit significantly, as the BDT 500 "CAMPUS-15" plan has been enhanced to offer 50 Mbps.
Higher-tier packages saw even more dramatic jumps: the BDT 1,050 package moved from 20 Mbps to 100 Mbps, and the BDT 1,150 plan increased from 25 Mbps to 120 Mbps.
For power users, the BDT 1,700 "SULOV-50" package now provides 170 Mbps.
BTCL expressed its gratitude to its users for their continued trust and assured that similar customer-friendly initiatives would continue in the future to ensure a seamless digital experience across the country.
