1 killed as gas cylinder of truck explodes

One person was killed in a truck's gas cylinder explosion in Mugda, Dhaka. Another person was injured in the incident.

On Tuesday, March 21 in the morning, the accident took place at a filling station in Mugda

Mugda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Jamal Uddin Mir confirmed the matter.

He said, "The incident occurred at the Best Eastern CNG Filling Station around 5 am.

The duty officer of Mugda Police Station Md. Ansar Ali said, "The deceased Saddam was the helper of the truck.

Mugda Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Mubaidul Islam said, "The truck was taking gas from the pump in the morning. The driver's assistant was standing next to him. At that time, the gas cylinder of the truck exploded with a loud noise. Saddam's body was almost dismembered and he died on the spot and a truck worker was injured.

He further said, "Primarily it is assumed that the gas pressure in the truck's cylinder was high or the cylinder was expired. The body has been sent to Dhaka Medical College Morgue for autopsy."
