Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said, Seven dengue patients died and 3,027 were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the last 24 hours.
A press release from DGHS said, "The death toll from dengue infection crossed the 800-mark as the authorities recorded 846 dengue deaths between January 1, 2023 and September 19,"
"During the period, 849 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka city while 2,178 were admitted to different hospitals outside it," the DGHS daily statement added.
"This year, 846 deaths, the highest in a year since dengue was detected in 2000, were reported from dengue disease while 281 died last year," the statement said.
With the new cases, the total number of patients rose to 1,73,795 the statement said, adding: "This year, some 1,62,847 patients were released from different hospitals out of the total patients."
