Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today (Wednesday) allocated Taka 10.50 crore for giving assistances to the poor, distressed, insolvent and floating people affected by the ongoing lockdown enforced to check further spread of the Coronavirus.

“The Prime Minister allocated the money from the PM’s Relief and Welfare Fund to all the Deputy Commissioners for assisting people in need during the ongoing lockdown,” PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told BSS.
He added that the money was allotted on the basis of the population of the districts and their need for relief.

In accordance with the local list, relief will be distributed to the needy people at grassroots level, he continued.
