Bangladesh Protests Against Hasina's False Statements

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh has lodged a strong protest with the Indian government over the continuous spread of false and fabricated statements by ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on social media and various platforms, which are fueling instability in the country.

On Thursday afternoon (February 6), a formal protest note was delivered to India's Acting High Commissioner to Dhaka, Pavan Badhe. The ministry later shared this information through an official press release.

According to the statement, the Bangladesh government expressed deep concern, disappointment, and strong objection to Hasina's remarks, emphasizing that such statements hurt the sentiments of the Bangladeshi people.

Additionally, the press release described her activities as hostile behaviour towards Bangladesh, warning that they are detrimental to fostering a healthy bilateral relationship between the two nations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs further urged that, in the spirit of mutual respect and understanding, immediate measures should be taken to prevent Sheikh Hasina from making false, fabricated, and provocative statements through social media and other communication channels while residing in India.
