According to the Chief Adviser’s press wing, after assuming office on August 8 last year, Dr. Muhammad Yunus formed six reform commissions to initiate structural changes in various sectors. Each commission was given 90 days to submit its report.

On January 15, four commissions—focused on constitutional reforms, the Election Commission, the police, and the Anti-Corruption Commission—submitted their reports to the Chief Adviser. The commissions on public administration and judicial reforms submitted their reports last Wednesday.

The government has announced that the complete reports and recommendations will be shared today with political parties and pro-uprising forces. This will be followed by discussions and negotiations, leading to the first formal meeting of the National Consensus Commission in mid-February. The exact date will be finalized in consultation with political parties.

During a briefing at the Foreign Service Academy on Tuesday, Legal Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul stated that a meeting will be held in mid-February to achieve a national consensus based on the recommendations of these six reform commissions. The meeting will be chaired by Chief Adviser and head of the National Consensus Commission, Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

Representatives from pro-July uprising forces and political parties will also participate in the meeting. If political parties agree, discussions may continue throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
