Bangladesh has been ranked 14th among the world's most corrupt countries out of 180 nations, according to the global anti-corruption organization Transparency International (TI). This is the country’s lowest ranking in the past 13 years.
Bangladesh scored 23 on the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2024, placing it alongside Congo and Iran, which had the same score.
These findings were revealed at a press conference held on Tuesday (February 11) at 11 AM at the Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) office in Dhanmondi.
Present at the conference were Professor Sumaiya Khair, TIB's Executive Management Advisor, and Mohammad Touhidul Islam, Director of Outreach & Communication.
Last year, Bangladesh ranked 10th among the most corrupt countries, with a CPI score of 24.
